I spend a lot of time reading, listening, and consuming technology and technology news. Those that have met me will back up my claim that I am very, very enthusiastic about web stuff. I am also back in school trying to finish my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, so I have been getting even more knowledge crammed in my head. I am in a strange position since I attended college at the undergraduate in the mid-90's and right now. I have a few observations:
Currently there are many projects that are on my plate. One is an online newsletter for a fashion company from Brooklyn, NY. The look and feel for this site has been designed by Krona Design. I am in the process of fleshing out the design comp to a test site that the designer and our customer and see, use and try the functionality. During this project large scale, pixel perfect layouts are expected, so we are using technology to replace the text with a font that isn't supported by every visitor's computer.
Well it's official the Spring 2007 semester has ended for me :) This is both a good thing, and a sad thing. It is good because I have a lot of projects that I can now devout more time to, it is one responsibility off my shoulders for the next 3 months. It was a good semester, I have learned a good amount, of the inner workings of an x86 CPU and some Assembly, more then I thought I could about the History of Rock & Roll, and that Visual Studio 2005 isn't as intimidating as it once seemed.
Hi again all just figured that after the North Jersey Web Design Meetup last night that there could be new visitors stopping by the blog, so welcome all, especially folks that listened to me rant about Drupal and standards based design last night. It was an interesting meetup, a lot of folks that are new to web stuff, or not in their words, "very technical".
Tonight at 7pm I will be attending my first NYC Drupal meetup. This should be alot of fun, I attended the DrupalCampNYC2 and alot of the people that were involved in that wonderful weekend appear to attend this. That was my first ever technology meetup and it started off my obsession with attending tech meetups.
Last Tuesday evening I went over to my first Drupal NYC meetup, at Manhattan Neighborhood Network and it was a good time. It was nice to see folks that I had met at DrupalCamp NYC2 back in January. There was a lot of Google Maps / mapping in general discussed, showed off and explained.
